Hey a fellow Pa.'er! Who makes these calipers?
Thanks,

Wow, Newc, you really were bored . But lets face it, your creativity and inventiveness(sp?) is great and could be beneficial to us all! Thanks for sharing and I can't wait to see this graphic.

LGM, as always, I'm so impressed with your artistic ability. I strive to be as good as craftsmen such as yourself. I also would like to know YOUR technique on engraving. Do you use the standard graving tools or do you have a different way to aproach these details?
Just beautiful bud,

Agreed! Don't forget the respirator no matter how insignificant it seems! The pearl will not break down in your system.......

It is actually very strong and it has "gap filling" properties. The only thing I don't like about it is that as it cures, it foams up(part of the gap filling properties ) and is kind of sloppy. It is an excellent glue nevertheless.

No problem at all, I just call it like I see it. Squeaky gears always get the grease

Yes, I have also used the blue vinyl(not paper) tape also and it works great as it leave a perfect line. Not sure if your near a "NAPA" auto parts store but they carry it.

You could always fill it with epoxy and let it COMPLETELY dry and re-cut if you didn't want to change the nut(or use heavier strings).

Too bad my memory cells aren't quite what they used to be !
Sorry about the mishap, but yeah, I hear ya!

I also think that is an excellent idea as well. I think the whole idea of having to have a certain number of posts(the higher, the better) before having the priviledge to vote may seem harsh to newcomers(which I still consider myself at 70 posts) but I think once they have been here for a while they will completely understand as I do.
Just my 2 cents worth.....

Hey there, I'm interested in your thoughts on finishing polished brass with a clear coating. So far, I'm finding that automotive clear lacquer(sp?) is the best. I'd like to hear what you guys use if you've ever done something like this.
Thanks!

Yes your right, I misunderstood..........

If you used the method I suggested, you wouldn't have to paint the headstock or use a piece of veneer since you could do the scarf joint like Jackson/Charvel guitars and put the joint way back towards the body starting around the 2nd fret. This way you could use a solid piece for the headstock and just make it wider than your neck material and sculpt it after it's glued. I would probably just glue the ears(or ear) and add an overlay/veneer to the top. I think it just depends on what you would rather "see".
I hope this made sense for you.....
