OOOOOOO :o
Same thing applies....plexi melts. If you use any type of hand saw, you should be fine. I use the router.
-
Is it 1-3/4 thick?!?!
All I know is that plexi gets hot and can melt and fuse back together after the cut. WD-40 works very well to help keeping the plexi from doing that
-
The new trems are supposed to be available.....I just don't know the routing yet.
-
I've seen both processes done....removing the frets and leaving the frets on.
Save yourself the agony, do as Brian and Jeremy recommend, remove the frets
-
Hmmmm...some possibilities:
Hard Ash (as mentioned )
Hard Maple (made one of those, very dense and HEAVY)
or even Alder
These all give a bright tone.

I like it...
Currently, I just use LGM

Are the mounting tabs on the EMG's rectangular? Plastic or Metal?
I've altered mounting tabs on other pups by clipping off the outside corners of the tabs to enable them to fit in an Ibanez direct mount pocket. Works fine.
As for direct mounting them. Are they not tall enough? Maybe adding a wood "spacer" between the pup and body would work? Nothing permanent.

I don't know what to put.
It's all I do for a living, but it's mostly modifications and repairs, however, on order, I build from scratch start to finish.
WHAT AM I?????????
confused mostly I think.......
Master, of course....we've all seen your work, dude.
-
Not quite a master...so I selected pro

PGM's are great! I have 4!!
They are the RG shape. Volume is way back, out of the way. The 5 way selector is in a different position as well. The output jack is straight out as opposed to the angled jack Bear mentioned above. Not in the same place as a standard RG, but still no angle.
I'm working on supplying PGM's to the masses

You know me....I say maple top with binding and no pickguard...OH!, and gold rules!
-
Jeremy, that is stunning! I want! I want! I want! :o
-
There is going to be a new tutorial up probably by the end of this next week on doing a whole board.
Cool! I'm looking forward to it...
-
I think it looks great!
But, I have heard that PurpleHeart loses it's color.....How about under a finish?
-
My wood supplier just got a BUNCH of Gibson's maple veneer. The problem is it's not bookmatched. I picked up a few consistent sheets.

I practiced on an older neck first...turns out to be quite simple, BUT take your time. You can always remove material, but you can't add material
what you can do to a Saga kit ;)

Jeremy, you are getting to be like Darren. He swirls anything that isn't nailed down and now you are inlaying everything. But, yet again, you amaze me with your talent. That is why I wouldn't go anywhere else to get layed....I mean get an inlay
