  1. That's it! The website says it's likely the most cloned guitar in the world! No surprise but I do like it. Weather is delaying my shed(guitar factory) building but I hope to make progress toward that end this weekend.
  2. Yahoo! OK cool beans. I actually remembered I have a laser level so I mocked the neck into the body and am pleasantly surprised that it shows dead centered when exactly in between the two tiny gaps. I just need to find a way to keep it there when marking the holes to drill in the neck. Oh yeah, this guitar looks to be almost a perfect match to the style of an Ibanez (350sg?) except mine has a handle in the body. I'm feeling better about the whole thing and now I turn my attention to building a large shed in our backyard which will have my work bench. The wife and kids joke that it's for things like bicycles and lawn equipment and such nonsense but we know better!
  3. OK, trying another pc to upload photos, let's see. Drats, still not taking directly or by url. Might have to try another forum which is a shame as I really like this one. I have an immediate issue now where the neck and body are joined(bolt on neck) there are very small gaps one on each side at the very end of the body so I'm wondering if I need to fill those before body sanding prep or not. They are almost too small to even accept wood veneer to fill.
  4. Trying the url link since the direct post failed earlier. Nope no go. Is it a firewall or adblocker issue? Oh, did neck adjustment for straightness no drama there. Checked fret height actually looks really good but will check again closer. Mocked up neck to the body and there are very small gaps just at the end of the body almost too thin to fill with veneer. Will post that picture next. Thanks for looking and providing any thoughts whatsoever. Dave
  5. Allllllrighty then..... Here's yer typical online dirt cheap kit photos. I got this one from a feebay dealer Fiverstarprod for about $130. Fairly pleased with the packaging. Strike 2 for posting as my photo upload gave me a fail right at the end, heavy sigh...Anyway, I'm a 20 year electronic tech so I like to think of projects in terms of a checklist so here's mine. Appreciate any additions to or other advisement to the said checklist. 1. Inspect all parts for damage, soldering connections, inconsistencies, etc. 2. Neck- straightness, snug fit to body no gaps, fret height, measurements from nut to 12 fret, doubled to bridge, tuning hardware fit 3 Body- sanding, wood filling prep for swirl technique, more sanding, copper sheets interior, mock up parts 4 Paint, put on parts, tune play like wild! Appreciate any help posting photos, mine are simple digital Canon camera photos
  6. Hello everybody! I made a nice lengthy opening post and sadly received a fatal error message when I tried to submit it so I'll be brief here and say that I have a kit ready to begin and will likely have some questions along the way. Will post some photos and try to explain my expectations in the next day or so. Thanks in advance for any help whatsoever! Dave.
