  1. You should read April's GuitarWorld magazine. JoeSatch talks about his soloing and you'd be surprised how much of his soloing is spontaneous and other cool Satch moves of course :D

    500+ ppl wow. *jealous :D

  2. k.. quadriple posts.. :D

Hm.. When you say "put it as tight as I can" do you mean that the screw is Completely In? or Almost at the point of losing the saddle?

Cus.. if your intonation's sharp.. you should loosen it...

Generally speaking your lowE should be the tightest (screw is most completely in)

(Righthand guitar.. i have to put periods there cuz this post ignores spaces..)

Obviously it's not to scale, but that's how generally the shape of your saddles in most guitars

(left is lowE right is high e)

  3. This is not a prob since it is done on my fingers. I can reach it and it sits just great in my hand. Im not planing to sell it since tis is my second build and im still too attached to it.

    That really does look deep.

    Long fingers, eh?? :D

    Also..

Im thinking of my normal EMG setup (81 and 89) but a bit diferent whiering.

    Elaborate pls :D

How much room do you have for mod. with active pickups?

  4. Were you thinking of dying/stain/ or translucent finish?

And is your maple handsome enough for those finishes?

If you really want to, personally, I'd paint something just over the filled-hole..

Like.. a .... winnie the pooh.. ughh.. your face? hand print.. any image.. just enough to paint over it.

    OR!!

Buy a veneer. Which I think would be an excellent idea. :D

When you make a mistake.. Don't worry. It's not the end of the world.. (maybe not so much for necks...)

Lettt your creative senses guide you.

    Ciao and good luck.

  5. I cant seem to be able to see the full size pictures. Would you mind uploading a good shot at 1024x768? I need a new wallpaper. This is one of the most original and beautiful guitars I have ever seen. Keep it up.

    Popup blocker?

Or this might be painful, but if your explorer has a status bar (the little gray frame on the bottom - says Internet with a picture of earth at right corner) If you put your cursor over the link, it tells you the link, and manually type that out..

And for the wallpaper idea.. I think it would look nice if there was 1 gigantic size in the front, and all these pics as the background.

  6. i.e. norma jean, the chariot

    Christian stuff.. :D nice.

R you rich enough to get yourself a full stack? If you are, sure go with it.

But if not there are good combo amps below $600, Randalls. I always liked their metal sound.

And plus, I don't know how many amps you have, but if it's your 1st or even 2nd, I'd get the standards

either Marshall or Fender, just cause of their versatilities (Some marshal half stacks are less than $800). Personally playing one genre 24/7 bores the crap out of me.. Just a comment :D

Also, ah! Don't forget.! Good combinations/fit between the guitar and the amp.

I have yet to play one but i've heard only good things about the ashdown fallen angel.

    :D

    Over $1500US..

And oh, check out some Peavey and Ampeg stuff too. Not great, just decent, (I would tell you to try Crates too.. but.. I personally think most combo amps beat Crates in sound, but vice versa in $) but hey.. life gives you a lemon, you make a lemonade B)

  7. yes but my beliefs honestly are if your not good at writing/playing music then you should not be famous and have a record deal. there are so many good bands out there that really deserve it more than [insert terrible emo band here].

Totally subjective, but I won't argue.. because so are any religious/moral beliefs.

i dont know if any1 considers the mars volta emo but i like them

meh.. they definitely have the influence. but their sound is very new and unique to generalize.. time will tell, and give them a name.. something like.. "progressive experimental 2nd wave emo" or something like that :D

    (redwhiteandthemaple nice icon :D )

    Thx

  8. I asked the second question because I remember seeing a luthier who only mounts the pickup in the cavity..

So I did some search and got something, not much. but..

    http://experts.about.com/q/Guitar-649/Pick...nstallation.htm

Everything there is irrelevant.. except "...contact with more solid wood than the other pick-ups, causing more resonance" in the Answer section.

Therefore I would expect more clarity in the tone. More definite and maybe even a brighter tone, No?

and also not to drift away from my original question, paint = less contact with wood, by means of the paint layer acts as a little "wall"..
