As the topic suggests,It's just beyond my skills, due to the un-uniform nature of the neck pocket,I'm just all afloat

Chrome DiMarzio's are a damn sight harder to get hold of than Jem single's (inc breed/evo matched singles)
I would'nt trade the Jem single tho dude,Your right to keep hold :-) I'm hoping to get a set of brand new (kinda) mint Chrom Fred/PafPro from a damaged j290th :-)
I just lurve chrome stuff :-)

In theory you should lose some sustain and tone and yada yada, but you're really not removing a great deal of wood, and i doubt you'd notice any tonal difference other then in your head.
I agree,And posted similar comments on Jem**te <-- What a great effort lol

They look like the real deal dude,I have a set of chrome evo's from a Jem 10th, and they are stamped v2 and something else, possibly b1 i can't remember
Rest assured, they are genuine DiMarzio's,wether ot not they are in fact evo's i can only guess

I noticed this on my Les Paul, and it kind of cured itself once i fitted schaller tuners,It really is as stable as you can get without it being locked

Some people cut the lead to length before soldering, others cut after soldering. I've done both. The "proper" (ie: SkillsUSA competition judgers, which include certified technicians and people from NIDA) way is to do the former. So the solder encloses the entire lead, to prevent oxidation.
How? on Earth? do you cut AFTER soldering? Am i being dumb here? Point2point i cut to rough length, tin, solder job done I.E. Pot to Switch for example
But say a pickup,Once the lead is soldered there is no way to cut it to length
I'm all confused

These i have used on both my Jem-a-likes ... There not perfect but easy to apply and only really close inspection shows them to be non-original

I dunno,if these 2 are worthy of some of the fantastci work here,I'm genuinely inspired by all of the work i have seen on this site ... You're all an inspiration to me to better my workmanship
Here they are Jem7MBK (oringinally 450 body,550neck,genuine pbk scratchplate,chrome DiMarzio Evo's,chrome hardware,and Duncan sds-1,Textured Black*metallic*)
And Jem7DPV (originally rg560,DiMarzio Paf-Pro's and hs-2 s/coil,550ltd scratchplate,Textured ParmaViolet colour)
Any comments are welcome,as is any advice *like give up* :-)

Last what color pickguard would look good with a dark mahogany guitar?
I'd suggest either of the following,
1,chrome(coloured chrome is cool) with standard black pickups and knobs
2,Black Guard with white pickups/knobs etc...

What did you do so the paper wouldn't wrinkle around the edges of the body?? Did you wet it first?
Nice job, I'd prefer some Hustler pics
No water was used, the corners were actually sliced(thinly with a very sharp blade) and over lapped slightly, with the idea being once the rest had been finished it'd be right up against the edges and keep it looking "semi" proffesional lol
I did start a "hardcore" xxx finish for a friend,but he's dissapeared so it's on hold :-(

The one on my old Patrick Eggle was removed with the help of a small pin hammer and gently tapping it loose,GENTLY TAPPING
Big hammer, and heavy swings are bad
