This is the body from my guitar from when I started playing. So figure around 1986, cheap superstrat type guitar. Maybe Cort? I don't remember, but I doubt it matters much. The neck is long gone and now I'm starting with just the body, I want to use quality parts and build a nice partscaster out of it.
My first challenge would be the neck, Do you think this will take a standard strat replacement from warmoth or some other company? What is that gear looking thing that goes through the neck pocket?
I have done some minor guitar work but nothing like this. Hoping I can pull it off myself because then I will like the end product that much more.
The end goal would be a HSS guitar with nice classic sounding (lower gain) pickups. Hardtail with a fender stratocaster type neck. I like the paint as it is and I might even keep the gumball machine sticker. Basically put it back together with better parts. I love the body shape, it's very similar to my Ibanez JS model, but pointy.
