The picture is a bit old but the neck is still the same.

I have a S101 guitars strat style neck for sale. It needs a new string guide/retaier and both screws and a mounting plateI am asking for $60
-
Ok the capacitors are all mylar/poly except for the 220 picofarad which should be ceramic. Am I correct on this?
-
I meant 9 times 3 since the Stage Center Reverb has two 9V batteries needed and the Little Gem has one 9V battery so that makes a total voltage of 27.
-
OK I plan on using a transformer to power the amp. My idea was to use a old toy train transformer but it only puts out 12 VDC and 9 X 3 is 27 so I'd need 27 VDC power right? Or have I gotten something wrong?
-
thanks

Thanks aidlook.

Which TLO74 is the one I need? A DIP or SMD?
-
yeah I know I'm saving up the $30 or so I'll be paying but who the hell said this was cheap?
-
thank you!!

Ok I have a section of my design planned out. Now I need you guy's knowledge on if this section would work.
My idea for this first part is to connect the little gem : http://www.runoffgroove.com/littlegem.html to the stage center reverb from general guitar gadgets: http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/index....3&Itemid=26
Would this work and how could I connect them? My guess for connecting them is to connect the wires to the SPST switch.

Well aidlook, you seem to be right that I lack understanding of amps. I understand solid state amps somewhat well but I do not get tube amps at all so I've decided to build a solid state amp instead and save the tube amp for R&D.
Now for a new question. I still have my little gem mini practice amp project that I could use for the 10" speaker. What are some circuits for tone, treble, and reverb that I could put in the amp?
-
I think I could find a car audio power amp. But then again a car audio power amp probably wont do crap for me in a guitar amp. besides I dont think car power amps use tubes.
I'm going to just take my time. I really dont want this project to be the death of me so I'm going to take my time and research everything I think might be useful.

In my knowledge Dearmonds are basically the same if not somewhat better sounding as Gretsch Dynasonic pickups. If you pair it with a bigsby you can get a guitar that sounds about as hawaiian as you can get a guitar to go. If i'm wrong on this I apologize . Someone here is bound to have more knowledge than I do on these pickups.

This guitar's tailpiece?
http://www.guitarsandeffects.com/images/1guildS60D.jpg
I dont have the funds for a jazzmaster tailpiece so I'd like to buy a tailpiece like this guitar has.

Can someone make this DWG formated plan file into a PDF file for me??
jaguar DWG plan
My parents won't let me download the volo viewer program.

I decided to stick with the jazzmaster pickups, bridge and vibrato tailpiece, and pickguard with the output jack. I found sources for the electronics of the jazzmaster and also a source for a black pickguard.
-
Well drak I have two things to say.
First good point. Second I should've mentioned I'd still use the original trem found on a jazzmaster.
I have the top half of my body already. It's pine. I'll probably get some alder for the bottom
-
OK then!! Does anyone have or know where I can get a jazzmaster template???
-
My idea is to build a jazzmaster with 2 high output GFS PAT black pickups, a black pickguard, a chrome tremelo or a hardtail bridge, and a bolt on neck with a firebird style headstock. The finish will be either black or a sunburst.
Would this be an worthwhile idea or should I just stick with the les paul style body and mail my brain to the loony bin?

if I wasn't poor I'd buy it. sadly I can't looks great though.
