Super nice - I love the way padauk pops when you add finish to it. That ribbon figure can be as jaw dropping as any quilt or flame figure, and the colour is beautiful.
Nice one!
Thanks Setch,
Yes that padauk is really nice and the way that grain looks after it was sprayed was better than expected.

Make on yourself... it's easy
I agree!

You may have to cut the nut in half, or into pieces to get it out.then you can clean up the nut slot to be able to seat the new nut properly..
Goodluck

Would cutting Mother of pearl on a jigsaw work? just curious.
As Mattia said, no.
Jigsaws are way to violent!
If you use a jig saw there won't be much of you or the MOP left so please step away from the saw!!!!!!!!!!

to get past the routing problem you can put a scrap piece of wood in the neck pocket for the bearing to run on.... Is the piece of wood in the second picture what you might use for fingerboard. If so Ilove it.. Everthing else is looking great keep up the good work!!!!!!!!

Hey guys...
I'm thinking of using either Ebony or Rosewood for the inlays on my next guitar. The fretboard is Pau Ferro. Will this look cheesy, or cool??? Good idea, or bad???
Well it is really up tp you and what you like, and the tastes in inlay that you have......
I will add that you need to pick something that has a good amount of cantrast to you fretboard. That way it will stand out.
Here are a couple of examplesthat I have made to show you what I mean..

I am TOTALLY ripping off your wood combination for my next project. I especially like the thin layer between the body wood and the padauk. Really nice detail. What kind of wood is it, if I may ask?
It is curly maple my friend.........
And thank you everyone for the great feedback.............

very nice looking guitar, have you already glued on the headstock cap? If not you might think about putting a thin sycamore accent stripe under your walnut just to give it a little bit more contrast to really set it off........
