  1. Hi Chris The logo is cut with a CNC into an alloy former and a mold is then used to make the pickups. I got the former made by a local engineering works and the pickups are made by Aaron Armstrong.(Kents son.)
  2. The pickups have arrived for Dave's bass. 2 ACG FatBas custom wound humbuckers with ceramic magnets in the bridge and Alnico 5 magnets in the neck.
  3. Managed to get the neck carved today still have a load of sanding to do but the basic shape is there. I am using an asymmetric neck profile with this one.
  4. I wouldn't worry about it there is a finite limit to the varibles which produce a workable guitar it stands to reason that more than one person will arrive at the same place. The trick is I think to make the design as much your own as you can.
  5. Hi It is a spoke nut wheel you can have a look at it at the following. http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Truss_rods/Hot...Truss_Rods.html
  6. Finally got the neck fretted.
  7. A good bit of progress made today. The fingerboard has been profile and the neck pocket cut. Also got the pickup cavities routed out.
  8. Hi After some final discussions a few changes to the spec. The headplate will now be in ebony with a black/maple veneer under it. The tuners will now be sperzels because I can't source any Schaller locking tuners.
  9. If there was a tearing your hair out in frustration smiley thats the one for me. (At least thats my excuse for my limited amount of hair.) I love the finished effect but the build process can be problematic or at least it is for me.
  10. Hi John You are more than welcome. Just give me a phone before you come down so I can make sure I will be there.
  11. The wood choices are Dave's and I think he has done a fine job.
