More done to day on the Walnut Recurve.

-
The neck carve just about finished on the Walnut Recurve.

Many thanks for the kind words.
Wez a pic of the side of the Skelf showing the 5 piece body.

I don't offer them on my instruments and have never been asked for them. I like the clean look of the board without them, that is not to say it cannot be done it is just I would prefer not to.
Cheers

Wez
It is a five piece body.
Mac Ebony 6 mm/Sycamore 4 mm/Wenge 20 mm/sycamore 4 mm/wenge 6 mm.
So with the carve you get the 3 layers there is a small carve to go in on the lower horn which will do the same on the front.

Wow very nice. Are all these basses pre sold and made to order?
Lol i just asked the same question. Sorry about that. I am just interested to see if any one here is making stock models for retail stores or is of the street customers.
I have several inventory basses that I am working on but I don't have a standard model as such.
You can see what I am working on for stock on my site.

Some work done on two necks both for single cuts. That is them both ready to be put into their bodies which should be done next week.

I had a stand at the UK Bassday and Hadrien Feraud dropped by and spent some time playing the 6 string headless.
What an absolutely stunning player.
Youtube vid of Hadrien Feraud playing Dave's bass at bassday.
A shot of the stand with most of the basses.
The jazz basses were John East's,we were on the same stand they were there to demo his pre-amps.

Cheers Travis.
Are you going to make it to Bassday.

Skelf,
I'm lovin' your basses, where do you score your wood from here in the UK?
I use John Boddys in Yorkshire.
David Dyke at luthier supplies.
Exotic hardwoods in Kent and anywhere else that I find in my travels.
However most of it comes from Larry at Gallery Hardwoods.
-
wow! Where did you get the bridge for that one?
Looks like I'm going to make it to the bass day by the way... I'll bring the baritone along, perhaps, as it's the closest thing I've done to a bass
It is a Hipshot Type A
I will see you there.
The bodies and the necks together.

A mock up of the nine string.

The current crop of necks on the go at the moment. Most of them orders with a few for inventory basses when I get the time to work on them.

Hi
Looking for a new home Ashdown EVO 500.
This combo is in excellent condition never gigged.
If you would like more details let me know.
Pick up would be preferable as carriage would be expensive.
I am looking for £475 ono.
There is a copy of the manual with all the features in pdf if you would like a copy e-amil me and I will send it to you.
