  1. Thanks a lot! It's a bit hard to describe the way she sounds, since she's got so many different sounds. The singlecoils sound pretty much like a strat, and the humbucker is head on raucnhy rock. The minihumbucker gives som extra grit to the singlecoils, and warms up the bridge humbucker a bit. Pretty versatile. It has a great natural sound, very spanky and full, thanks to the alder body. I considered a piezo, but I used to own a Parker, and I was never really into the piezo thing - it just doesn't sound that good in my opinion. Thanks for the kind words, still open to all suggestions.
  2. Hi there. I just wanted to show off my cool (to me at least) franken-tele project I recently made. Here are a couple more: http://www.rasmusrask.dk/DIY/trucktele/trucktele-minihum.jpg http://www.rasmusrask.dk/DIY/trucktele/trucktele-008.jpg It is based on a cheap Peavey Generation EXP and a Crafter Cruiser neck (with amazing flame btw, look at the pic) both of which I got for cheap. I just worked on the neck a little, then bolted it to the body. I made the pickguard myself, from 2 mm diamond plate aluminum. The pickups are: 2 US Fender singles, Dimarzio Minihumbucker and Dimarzio Tonezone. The switching is a standard 5 way (HSS) with a master volume, and the the second volume is for the minihumbucker, which can be added to any of the 5 way positions. The last switch is a momentary killswitch. (labeled "snooze".) The tuners are planet waves autotrim. I would like to customize it some more, any suggestions are welcome.

  5. Hi everyone. I am in the process of building af tele-style guitar, using a very nice 80's Wahburn 24 fret shredder neck as a base, that I got for cheap. The neck can be seen here: http://www.rasmusrask.dk/guitar_dagbog/Hals.jpg The body will be alder, with a 1/4" quilt maple cap. A digital mockup can be seen here, except that this will have a humbucker tele bridge, and a single single hum configuration: http://www.cablesleep.dk/Rasmus/new-guitar.jpg Debating between this color and this: http://www.cablesleep.dk/Rasmus/new-guitar2.jpg Gluing up the woods: http://www.rasmusrask.dk/guitar_dagbog/limning.jpg Glueup done: http://www.rasmusrask.dk/guitar_dagbog/blank_back.jpg Top shown wet: http://www.rasmusrask.dk/guitar_dagbog/top_wet.jpg Checking the neck with my template. The body shape is more or less a copy of a Yamaha Pacifica tele, as I find it more modern and sleek looking: http://www.rasmusrask.dk/guitar_dagbog/body_template.jpg Cutting out the body: http://www.rasmusrask.dk/guitar_dagbog/body_cutting.jpg Finished cutting the body: http://www.rasmusrask.dk/guitar_dagbog/body_rough.jpg Digital mockup of idea for headstock: http://www.rasmusrask.dk/guitar_dagbog/Headstock_idea.jpg Sanding the sides: http://www.rasmusrask.dk/guitar_dagbog/sanding_sides.jpg Done sanding the sides: http://www.rasmusrask.dk/guitar_dagbog/body_side_sanded1.jpg http://www.rasmusrask.dk/guitar_dagbog/body_side_sanded2.jpg From the front: http://www.rasmusrask.dk/guitar_dagbog/body_front2.jpg Angle grinding (using sanding disc) the Jeff Miller inspired cutaway: http://www.rasmusrask.dk/guitar_dagbog/anglegrinder.jpg Back cutaway done: http://www.rasmusrask.dk/guitar_dagbog/Body_cutout1.jpg Sides of back rounded with routerbit: http://www.rasmusrask.dk/guitar_dagbog/body_beveled1.jpg Took the most of the neck pocket out using a forstner bit: http://www.rasmusrask.dk/guitar_dagbog/rough_routed.jpg Got the rest using a router freehand: http://www.rasmusrask.dk/guitar_dagbog/neck_rout_done.jpg Checking neck fit: http://www.rasmusrask.dk/guitar_dagbog/neck_test_fit.jpg http://www.rasmusrask.dk/guitar_dagbog/neck_test_fit2.jpg Rounded off the neck heel: http://www.rasmusrask.dk/guitar_dagbog/neck_pocket_bevel.jpg Next: Getting bridge in place, and routing poickup cavities, plus electronics compartment. I'll try to keep you posted. Any and all comments and suggestions welcomed. @ Ben: Sorry didn't know about that. Should be fixed now. I did the mockup using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Best regards, GuitaRasmus.
