  1. looks like a stage guitar and that cool. I built a v when I was in high school and it was a cool guitar back then.

one thing you will always learn as you go this guitar is a little better then the one before.

your 17 now I want to see what you build in a couple of years .I know I always learn from my building project.

  2. I bought 200 board foot of alder 1-1/4 thick a couple of years ago and I can let you buy some for a project .I can plane and sanded to thickness

what size do you need and what kind of money do you want to spend.

do you need one solid piece or can you use two pieces glued together.

if your interested send me a email

    hope I can help :D

  3. here is my thought if I was asked that question I would say prs all way but that is me.

ask your self what you want in a special guitar. nice playing nice woods looks awesome. hard tail string through body or a Floyd rose kind of guitar.

possibly a nice fender strat or tele [ single coil] or a humbucker guitar PRS with dragon pickups.

I would think this has to be a guitar you will never sell or trade away.

again if it was me I like the feel of a PRS custom 22 with a wrap around bridge.

carvin make a nice carve top guitar that sound good and they play great for less then you might spend on a Prs or a JEM 777. 2000.00 can buy you a nice guitar if you shop around.

Thoughtless 7 sounds like solid advice

I took a break from playing for about 6 month then when I started again it was like finding a long lost friend. there is all kinds of guitar players the pros and then those that play for the enjoyment of just playing. I would find songs you want to play and look them up on the internet there is ton of music sites out there just keep looking and you will find it. take things slow and speed will come as you get better.

we all learn at different speeds so what take me 20 minutes might take someone else a hour.

if you can't read music learn to read tabs and then check out http://www.911tabs.com/

I find this site vary helpful

  5. my opinion I like the hard tail string through bridge.

I have always liked hard tail strats and I love tele guitars.

I have used hard tail string through on my last 4 builds 2 prs a strat and a tele.

I think there is more sustain with a string through bridge.

it is a little boring using he same bridge all the time but practice make perfect.

I guess what ever works for your project. nothing wrong with the wrap around and it works vary well.

  6. Hi Jarrod

it sound like your going for a premium tone. I do the same thing I like a little more in a pickup.

I love tele sound and have 4 tele guitars with different pickups in each one.

I get a vary nice twang from a Seymour Duncan stk-t2b Hot stack for tele bridge pickup. nice country twang and a great Robben Ford sound.

the pickup have the silver bar going across witch adds to the look if your going with chrome bridge and tuners. I use a bill Lawrence stacked strat witch has a nice warm tone.

the Texas special pickups are vary cool I have them in a couple guitars one strat one tele

the Texas special tele neck pickup is a vary nice sound.
