just dont pay...

well two reasons...ive considered that tho..but 1. i like the look of two humbuckers..it just looks better...and 2. they dont sell the pickup i want in a single coil setup....but i think im gonna just route it...still thinkin about it..thanks alot guys

thanks alot guys those all sound like really good ideas...now its just if i want to do it or not! thanks

i have an ESP M II deluxe...and it has a single coil in the neck position and a humbucker in the bridge...but every other M style guitar...(like kirk hammetts) has 2 humbuckers..and i prefer that sound too...so i was thinking about routing the single coil hole bigger to fit a humbucker...so heres my question. Do i have to strip off the finish in order to route? or can i tape off the area and route or do you guys have any ideas? because it is a transparent red finish and would be very difficult to recreate a similar looking finish...or am i just nuts?thanks

but it was the same paint...the first coat peeled off the second coat? what went wrong and how should i fix this? maybe i can just sand it down? im feeling really discouraged about finishing at this point...
-
i sprayed it and all went pretty well...except when i sprayed the heastock area the new paint peeled up the old paint..so it looks all clumpy and messed up...i dunno what went wrong but i hope i didnt just mess up this neck!
-
thanks for all your help guys...i sprayed the first coat and sanded the imperfections with my hand at 600 grit..so its pretty smooth now...and im about to put on the second coat...then hopefully ill be ready to clear coat..thanks

nice job! i really like the natural color binding..very nice! im considering that on my next project

wood doesnt cost THAT much does it? who do people and companies chose crap woods? just to save a few bucks? if they spent a bit more they could sell for more...unless their just trying to make something cheap...but id rather get something nice and spend a little more
-
another question...i just put the first coat of black on..and i noticed some runs...should i sand these off now? or do another coat then sand? and also what sand paper should i use? do i hand sand it? or what? thanks very much

i have a neck which is maple with an ebony fretboard...im going to paint it black shortly and im wondering...do u just spray clear coats on the side of the fretboard? or do i leave this natural? because if you dont spray anything then u would feel a difference from the neck to the fretboard. So just a clear coat on the side of the fretboard or what? thanks

whats so special about that bridge?

well we had the scale length perfect...had the string paths looking good..but then we put little nails in the holes on the neck to mark for the holes...and it worked fine on mine...but then we drilled his and bolted on the neck...and the scale was off and it wasnt straight..so the string paths were screwed up..we doweled the holes so were back to point A...so how do you guys do it?
thanks
-
today i had a little trouble with bolting on the neck to one of the guitars...mine came out fine but my friends didnt...so we filled the holes...what process do you guys use when figuring out how to bolt on? thanks
ps were almost done! pics soon!

i bought a long 1/4 inch drill bit and it worked beautifully..thanks guys!
-
yea i was thinkin a longer drill bit because of what u guys said about the chuck getting in the way...but now i feel reassured...thanks
-
im preparing to do my connector holes with connect the bridge pickup cavity to the controls cavity...and my friend just messed up on his bass so i was wonder what tool do you guys use to drill this hole? or special setup or tips? thanks...also the connector hole that connects the neck pickup to the bridge pickup seems easy enough...just a horizontal hole...thanks

how do i put the DPI up? and what will this do?

IMO the floyd rose looks too bulky on a LP...it does seem like a good idea though...but u could just buy one of those pedals that acts like a floyd rose..im not sure of the name though
-
its going to be an ESP JH 2 replica..so all black with a black diamond plate top...im hoping i can finish it tho! seems really hard to do
-
seems like a good idea..but ive seen it before...it looks ugly...looks like a zebra with cheeta spots..just isnt workin
-
sorry for the very low quality..its all i have for now..the finish pictures will be very high quality because my cousin is taking them professionally...but enough about that..enjoy
almost done...
-

-

i have an ESP F 200 with a floyd rose and ive been thinking about taking the floyd rose completely out, filling the holes and just putting on a bridge and tail piece or string thru...like the more expensive model...anyone ever tried this?
