HOW MANY COATS OF LACQUER SHOULD I SPRAY ON A STRAT NECK THAT I JUST MADE

deft nitro lacquer and krylon acrylic gloss white

ash body -sanding sealer -grey primer-white paint and nitro lacquer ..the pink is in the lacquer i sanded it back to the paint which was fine and started to spray the lacquer on again seems like when the lacquer starts getting on heavy spots its turns pink i was wondering if i could add another coat of white paint or maybe get something to keep this project going ahead cause thereis almost enough coats of lacquer on the guitar about 3 or 4 more

i just painted a strat body WHITE i built and sprayed the nitro lacquer about 6 coats and i noticed pink spots on the back of the guitar comming out ***

birch has been referred to as "POOR MANS MAPLE" its pretty hard maybe not so hard as hard maple and not so bright sounding

make sure its dry if its not your join in the middle will open enough to create a seem in your lacquer

what do you thing its 8'' x 20'' 5/16 thick im not sure if i like the grain

benjamin moore makes a good clear sanding sealer compatable with lacquer you can get it anyware they sell benjamin moore paints ,not too hard to find in canada

benjamin moore makes a sanding sealer compatable with lacquer it works pretty good its clear and very easy to sand .benjamin moore is very common brand of paint up here

i buy watco clear gloss lacquer at a local hardware store i found a page on the net a piano maker had contacted watco/rustolium they him it was nitro lacquer boy it would make it alot easier if nitro was written on the can a

im getting ready to spray the finish on a guitar im using analind dyes for the translousent top and spraying lacquer, my queston is do i need any kind of sealer or can i use coats of lacquer

wow this turned in to quite a discussion anyway thank !!!!!! i got it done without recking the binding looks good

my queston is. i guess i cant use a fret beveling file to bevel the frets ends on a neck with binding will i have to do them by hand

do you tape off your binding on your guitar or spray you finish over it

i say your on your own there .just find a few tutorials on this web site and others i guess i dont know a real pattern to follow to create the genuine lp top

make sure you determine the neck angle . i made a neck thru les paul style a few years ago . from where the nut would be to the back end of the body was straight then i glued my fingerboard on top. when i put the strings on the action was too high & i could'nt lower the bridge the only way to fix it was to sink the bridge in the body pretty much junk but it was one of my first projects
