The 1978 Iceman that I am working on is that way. The binding goes down past the fretboard slightly and there is a small channel routed in the neck for it.

Welcome back to the states and the forums.

very nice, is the fretboard stained also?

Welcome, I lived in Modesto when I was a kid for about 5 years.

I read about those drive rollers and was looking at some the other day, I think I am going to get one to replace the washer setup that I used when building the one that Jay5 shared with us.

Thanks guys, yeah I went a little wild with this one I spent about 2 weeks drawing up different designs trying to get the American flag concept without just being the American flag. I cant wait to finish it and see it with all the chrome hardware I have been picking up for it. I even got some chrome metal pickup rings for it. I am not a fan of black guitars although I have had a few and currently have black Jackson Kelly but it is going to get a makeover soon, probably not this extreme though......maybe it will.

Yes that will be enough if you dont leave much over hang, but its way cheaper if you order in bulk.

My friends band played in Houston last weekend and their Van, trailer and all their equipment was stolen.
-
yeah I was laughing about that, I thought I might have a chance at getting one cheap and then they went nuts on the bidding. Oh well I just bought the stuff to build my own, way cheaper.

Believe it or not, each knob actually does something.
Speaking of knobs, the guitar player in my sons band said his amp wasnt working so i told them to let me take a look at it, So after messing with it for 5 seconds i got it working. I went to my sons room and said " tell phillip to stop smoking pot" he replied "why" i said " because he had all the tone knobs on zero, it works fine if you turn them up"

I saw something ,I think it was Dan Erlewine, he glues guitar strings to a dowel rod and there you have it, cheap nut files.

Dude I was thinking a little lighter color but that is beautiful.
I started painting my Iceman this weekend and it was kinda cold so I have had my space heater running all day in the shop.

Got any shots with your hair teased up real high?
:D
I actually have a picture of me when I was about 18 with my hair teased somewhere around here. Kind of embarrassing now.
