  1. hey guys its been a very long time since i've posted but i figured i might as well

i finally got a decent song recorded with this bass

the song is for composition at school so it would be cool if you told me what you thought of the song aswell as the bass sound

the song isnt finished yet its going to have a keyboard solo in it and its a rough copy so just excuse the sloppy bits

    cheers

  2. it depends how serious he wants the band to be and how serious he is

i know that if i had a drop kick in my band i wouldnt take it because theres people who are content with being in a "fun" band like sand paper

but some people want to work frieken hard to try and make it and cant be bothered to stuff around with people who cant be bothered

    just my take on it

  3. haha its not as bad as this band i saw play

they were all 10 years old apart from the drummer who was 45 hahaha i can only imagine the practises

"if you boys are geting hot feel free to take your shirts off"

    "ok uncle reggie"

haha ok probably took it to far

  4. Robert Irizarry's comments are spot on.

I used to be a "Mac's suck!" kinda guy, but after a little research they seem like really nice computers (I really like the MacBook Pro). If I get a notebook, it'd probably be a Mac. I'm still a Windows fan though, especially for desktops. I'm a pretty big nerd, and I just love the feeling of getting a bunch of errors and fixing them myself...

    haha so true

i used to hate them but now i like there functionality, its easy

my dad bought home a mac from work and i use it a fair bit

    still nothing like a windows

  5. mm i found a few places when i was over there i cant really remeber the name of the places but its in the heart of the city so yeah

there was a cheap one......not massive and not sure about the quality right near the massive shoping centre(biggest in china or somthing)

then there was a massive one 4 stories or somthing out there....its yellow..............pretty expensive about the same as western prices

its probably not very helpful but im sure if u look ull find stuff

  6. yeah my left pinky and the muscle down that side of my hand always started twitching alot thesedays aswell.....it hasnt swollen

i think its jsut the mucles has been tired from alot of pracitse and its buildin up a bit......i dont mind it its kinda funny haha

  7. yeha i would do it out side for sure

i think there some way out using static currents or somthing to help as well .......not 100% sure though year 10 science is as far as it went for my in affraid

That would be by putting opposite currents through the paint and the body of the guitar IF it was metal. It would work if you gave the paint a negative charge as it came out of the can causing each drop of paint to repel the other spreading out more. But it would also require the guitar to be made of metal to attract the paint, and have a positive charge. I think I'm right?

What about a layer of conductive paint applied before the colour layer?

If you wanted to use this method, then yes. I'm not completely sure that the conductive layer would be needed though. Also, I'm not sure if the advantages are amazing: smooth first coat & paint conservation. If you want to do this, then the most important part would be running a current through the nozzle of the paint can. Also, would this not lead to an attraction by dust for the positively charged particles? All bits of dust have different charges.

I don't wanna do it, just think out loud of ways to avoid having to build the guitar from metal

i was orginally thingin of using stactic to keep the dust away

  8. Idea! This is what I did and the sides of my neck pocket are so straight and tight I have to fight to get the neck back out.

You first create a template or take the neck you are going to use, and lie it down on the body and trace an outline. Then take a 2X4 or any other straight piece of wood. Line the edge of your router bit up with the inner edge of the line you drew from the neck. Leave the router in the exact spot where the bit lines up with your outline, and set up the 2x4 along the base of the router going parallel with your line. Clamp the 2x4 and guitar down to a sturdy table and take your time. When you rout along that 2x4, you can keep a straight line and you will have a nice neck pocket.

Since you are not yet well versed in the usage of a router, I would get a cheap plank of pine or something and use it as a test for this method. Give it a shot, I found it quite useful.

this wouldnt be a BIG TEMPLATE by anychance who it

mmm im glad u suggested it as no one has said BIG template before in this thread
