  1. What do you guys use to mount humbuckers directly to the body? Do you drill out the hole on the mounting tab and then use a bass pickup screw (wood screw) to attach to the body? Do you have some secret source of long, thin wood screw that will fit through the holes on the mounting tabs? Do you use a normal humbucker screw and some sort of insert in the body?
  2. How long do you make the output jack leads and the grounding wire that goes to the spring claw? I'm wiring up a strat from scratch right now. I want them long enough so that if I have to get back inside I can flip the guard over and do what ever work is necessary without having to de-solder them. But then I don't want a bunch of excess wire crammed in the control cavity either cavity either. Thanks, Bob
  3. Sorry if this has been asked before. I've always heard you should sand with the grain of the wood. However, when it comes to final polishing you are supposed to do it in a random circular fashion. With the finer grades of sand paper (say 1000 grit and finer) do you ever sand in circles? Thanks Bob
