  1. It is pretty awesome (I have a 500x). My roommate has a 2000 gibson LP special with humbuckers and says they are about even in playability, but thats according to him. He has played the dillion, i have never played the gibson cause he is afraid to bring it to school. Hope this helps. Did you try e-mailing Dillion to see if they have any nearby dealers info@dillionguitars.com. As much as I love the guitar, I would have to say go a and try one tho. Its a guitar, I still can't get used to the concept of buying one without beltin out a few power chords first. -Vadim
  2. Hi, I have posted a few times already, but only now realized there is a new members section. My name is Vadim, I am a sophomore bio-medical engineering student. I have been playing guitar for about 4 years. My main axe is a dillion prs copy, along with several garage sale finds. Pretty much nothing that is too nice to not get tinkered with. I was thinking of building a guitar this summer, but this site has convinced me to probably do it over winter break. -Vadim p.s. If anyone has experience with the kent armstrong PAFs, let me know.
  3. here is an ibanez i saw online a while ago. Crazy stuff here
  4. Isn't girls_guns_guitars the guy who chrome plates guitars?
  5. I think he is refering to the tip and ring, or in othe words the two connectors on the output jack... I think its the wire that is not going to ground. BTW, on of my professors (who plays guitar) kept on calling it an input jack. After a needlessly long argument, i can't understand why. Is it input or output? -Vadim
  6. the cheap kent armstrongs are not potted.
  7. Hey guys, Lemme just start by saying that since i found your site about a month ago I have been reading it and the forum pretty regularly and you guys rock. Here is my question... I have a dillion prs copy, http://www.dillionguitars.com/guitar/elect...R500/index.html the body is solid maple, i dunno why, but it is. I want to change out the pickups for a set that will be able to handle hardcore, emo and blues. I have a decent digital pedal, so i can eq out some of the guitar's extra "brightness" when needed. I have been looking at the cheap kent armstrong pickups online (not the real ones, but the WD music ones) I was thinking a M213K for the neck and either a M214K or M215K for the bridge. Ya can't beat 70-80 bucks for a set of new pups. Does anyone have any experience with these. I couldn't find any reviews other than on harmony central. THanks. -Vadim btw, yeah, i know i would have to pot them myself.
