  1. Search out some killswitch threads...this has been asked before...

That link just takes you to Maplin's site, not any particular switch...

You may wish to check out some momentary SMD type switches...tactile switches...these are tiny and very cheap but you may have to get clever in the installation...perhaps they could be surface mounted so that no drilling be required somewhere...

BTW...I think you actually want a push to make switch shorting the hot to earth just before the output of the guitar...lifting the hot with a push to break will most likely result in noise...as I say, check out some of the other posts... pete

    Okay dude, Thank you.

I haven't dabbled in electronics since I did my GCSE on the subject, so cheers for your patience with my noobyness.

and.. damn that link for not working :D

  2. I've been searching high and low for a push-to-break switch for use as a killswitch. I figured a non latching push-to-break would make more sence as i'm after that tom morello kinda thing.

Anyways, everywhere I look i'm confronted with these cheap ass nasty looking things (Link)

Is there any place I could get a push-to-break switch that would actually look quite posh on the front of the guitar?

Failing that.. is there any kind of rubber covering or something I could use to cover the switch so it doesn't look quite as ugly?

  3. I wouldn't discount a US maker just yet - shipping a neck is really cheap, even by a fast courier service, and with the dollar so weak at the moment you could get a steal!

This is true, it was almost $2 to the pound when my mum was buyin my dad the Dave Gilmour EMG set for christmas.

I've emailed the guy on that site about a quote anyways, because obviously they probably don't stock that many 7 string strat necks what with hardly any demand for them.

Does indeed look like an import is my best bet.

    No worries :D

    And thanks muchleh!

  4. Hiya.

I'm trying to find a place in the UK, preferably a Fender licenced dealer who'd be able to make a 7 string custom neck with the large strat headstock. It'd also ideally need space for the Floyd Rose locking nut.

I forsee a few replies along the lines of "make it yourself", but as the neck is one of the most important parts of the guitar, and my skills with wood are probably the worst in the country, i'd rather have it made up for me.

Looking through the list of dealers and what not on the website, I came across http://edenhaus.com/ which would be able to do it, but its in the USA, and would cost a bomb to ship over here on top of the price of having it made.
