i dont like strats so i went with a tele...i need help desperately, how would i go about making a template its too late to turn back

i ordered from guitarbuildingtemplates.com, not knowing that they take a while to deliver. anyways, how would i go about making a template... i dont know the routing paterns or anything, this is my first guitar...

im in a real mess. the templates i ordered for my guitar didnt come in time, so long story short i have to make due without them. whats some helpful tips on getting the guitar shape, the next shape, and everything else such as routing right?

thanks for all the replies guys... i just have one question... as i said im building a telecaster replicate... i cant find a template or anything anywhere and im very nervous about getting the body shape right... what should i do?

hey guys... there are probably alot of topics on this but i wanted one specific to me... anyways, im going to upstate ny for a while starting friday to build my first ever custom guitar in my granpas workshop. i ordered parts and im basically making an exact replica of a fender tele... ive always wanted a tele, and ive always wanted to build my own guitar, its like the best of both worlds.. anyways, i was just wondering if you guys had any tips on how NOT to screw up when building my guitar... anythings to avoid, anythings to make sure to do.. i have 2 books on guitarbuilding and have been studying it for the past year, so i think im ready...

yes a 12 string bass... they are all over the place... its like a 12 string guitar has a little tiny string next to each of the 6 main ones, a 12 strng bass has 2 next to each of the 4 main ones, so basically, its yet another type of guitar/bass that one desires

because this one is centraled around building. I find it hard to get a response on playing in this forum. And although i have a building section of the other forum, i think that if enough people join, it will serve its purpose.

what is the best book on guitar building... i already own "Building Electric Guitars" by Martic Koch, but i want another one or 2 more just for insurance going into my first project

when using a floyd rose, it comes with the locking nut... does this go on top of a normal nut, or does it qualify for both... in otherwords, if im gonna be buying a floyd rose foor my custom guitar, do i also need a normal nut?
