  1. hello here is a link to fenders support page they have wiring diagrams on there http://www.fender.com/support/diagrams/index.php
  2. Hello what type of wood is it ? $60 is good price if it is alder, ash etc
  3. http://s140.photobucket.com/albums/r16/cen...rutinizer_2006/ I am new to this site the links i put up on the 1st post did not work hopefully this one will Thanks if you take the time to look and give a opinion Hello here is my 1986 usa 1957 stratocaster when i bought it it was in pretty bad condition The finish on the body was marked up the fret board was well played the electrics were very noisy neck pickup was not working one of the splitshaft pots shaft had snapped off the switch arm was bent . All hardware rusted oxidized. The good points. The truss rod was in full working condition there was no structual damage to the body, the trem was working height adjustment intonation etc the tuners in excellent working condition . I was going to strip this guitar down and do a refinish Then i came across some websites with pictures of the new fender blackie custom shop the price of these guitars was ridiculas anyway i decided to turn my strat into blackie . Here is what i done i used some pictures of the actual blackie for reference on relic patterns, using a dremel 300 i marked out the relic shapes then removed the finish with a scalpal. On the bare wood i brushed on some tea (the drinking kind) left it to dry then brushed on some vinegar that had 'had some wirewool fermenting in it for a week or so, the chemical reaction with the tea gives the wood a instant aging without using dyes After getting the bare wood to the desired darkness i rubbed in some Antique tung oil The neck i done a re-fret, the fretboard was already stained i added a bit of carbon mixed with tung oil to darken the wear marks ,wiped off then gave it a misting of tinted nitro lacquer The decal on these usa strats are above the finish so i used scalpal to get the correct marks without digging into the actual headstock The hardware i cleaned up with general purpose oil. The electrics i bought 3 (used)250k fender pots 5 way fender switch 3 (used)fender custom shop pickups copper sheilding (as on the original blackie) The final result is pretty accurate the guitar sounds great well set up . in total i spent about 300 pounds on this project i know you could say well it aint custom shop but for the fraction of the price of a custom shop i am very happy with the result .
