Hello everyone. I've been playing the git-fiddle for over twenty years now. I started doing my own set-ups and making my own nuts when I became very frustrated with the rush-jobs I used to pay for. I'm now becoming interested in assembling my own guitars, and maybe even amps - not from scratch just yet, but from already-made parts.
Right now, I got two Japanese strats, and another on the way. I'm a lefty who plays a righty-strung axe. I used to play righties for convenience, but I prefer the geometry of a left-handed guitar, so I use lefties and make my own nuts. I can't do finger-style playing because of the way the strings are in relation to my fingers, but that's okay 'cuz there's lots you can do with a pick. I mostly play blues/rock-influenced type stuff, and I use a two-amp rig consisting of a Peavey Deuce and a 1987 Marshall Plexi.
Anyhoo, I just wanted to say that I appreciate all the information given here, and wanted to say hi. I'll try to keep the dumb questions to a minimum, but that's not hard to do with all the great info you guys share freely here.
