  1. I hope I posted this in the proper forum....all apologies if I messed up. So here is my newbie question .... how do you go about replacing the pots, switch, jack, and pickups on a semi-hollowbody? I upgrade the electric components on my solid-body tele, but I am baffled when it comes to the semi-hollow bodied guitars... do you go through the sound holes for the pots etc. ? Do you need special tools? I did a search, but nothing popped up ... any info would be appreciated! thanks, kmw Update....... sorry I just found the hollow-body tutorial ..... I don't know why it did not show up in my search. Any added comments or tips are welcome.
  2. Forgive the newbie nature of my question... if you use a compound radius fretboard (stewmac 10"-16") what should the radius of the nut and bridge be? Would it be 10" @ the nut and 16" @ the bridge or does it change? thanks for your patience. kmw
  3. Thanks to everyone for your help...I just might go for it kmw
  4. I have some thick cedar billets and was wondering if anyone has ever heard of using cedar as an electric body? I know it is used as a top in some acoustics, but I have never seen it used for an electric. I know strength could be an issue, but I figure I could make a 2-piece cedar body with a thick maple or poplar spline, which would give me joint strength and solid screw anchoring. So I guess I am wondering what tonal characteristics cedar would have? Any input would be greatly appreciated. kmw
