  1. I am not looking for worth, I just like to know originality, or the brand and where it came from. And I a dont know much about posting pictures on the interent everything resizes them for you...sorry I didnt even take those pics I just had them from the ebay deal and I redid them, if you resize pictures to large on CS2 it wont be very good quality, unless large pixels is a good thing. I like quality over quanity :D but you are right it doesnt matter much, but I am just a curious kid that would like to know what it is, thanks for your help though.

  2. I recently purchased what was supposedly an Eko body, never stated what model but I looked at pictures and it looks like a Kadett, but it is different in a few ways. It was also said that is was built in the 60's which I know most Ekos were. My concern is that it is not an Eko, which I don't really care that much if it is or isn't...but I would like to know if it is actually from the 60's and who made it, if it is Eko or not. I have a few pictures to show you guys. I can tell you obviously by the pictures that it is routed for two pickups(I have only seen Kadetts with three)Its neck pocket is about 2". The holes on the neck pocket are all parallel, I have always thought Eko/Vox guitars have angled neck pocket holes. I tried to see if the pickguard screws match up with Kadetts but it is difficult to tell. Also the horns are angled or curved instead of being flat like on the Kadetts(if that makes sense). The body appears to be one piece, which shows a sign of being built well, so not some cheap knock-off. Well thank you for your help guys, I was hoping for a vintage body I can rebuild hopefully I didn't get ripped off. Here are the pics or the links Front View Back View

  3. Well I think I saw a someone mention the whole obvious scam 13 string "super bass" that is on youtube. Well I was looking into it and I heard that the guy is now trying to sell it on Ebay for 400 pounds so like 800 dollars. Does anyone know of the ebay page or have a link? I think it is already over and I would like to see the ebay page. (sorry if this wasn't the right area to post this I can move it or whatever I just don't know where to put it)

  4. When I put the binding on of course you need to scrape it flush with the guitar. I was wondering what do you guys use for that? You can purchase them off stewmac(overpriced)but then it looks like you have to sharpen it to use it and I dont want to have to buy more things just to sharpen the scraper. So what should I use anything cheaper that I can get at like 'Home Depot' or something. Also an easy dumb question, I plan to stain the guitar, I stain it after I install the bindings right I just tape the bindings off and then stain it? Thanks again

  5. Hmm, so pretty much a clear varnish and then the polyurethane(thats what I usually use)? Or just straight up polyurethane and no type of varnishes? I have never finished anything without staining it first. Also would and oil be best and then polyurethane over the oil or would poly have a hard time sticking to a body that has been oiled? Thanks again for all the info and that whole masking idea sounds pretty cool.

  6. I was thinking about putting a lacewood veneer on my next build and I was looking at pictures of it. Most looked nice but this picture really stuck out Picture. How do they get this finish? Did they just oil it and then lacquer it or was it stained and then sanded back? Also this other finish Picture 2 was it the same just with a different piece of lacewood that gave it a much different look? Thanks

  7. Top and Bottom Channels? I am only doing the top of the guitar(not that I know what you mean by top and bottom, so it might mean something totally different then the top and bottom of the guitar :D ). And I don't have a router let alone a router table. I might be getting enough money to buy a router set but I still wont have a router table, and thats if I could even afford the router set. But that you for the advice. So do you guys like Lacewood or quilted sapele better :D ?

  8. I was planning on putting some type of veneer on my next build. The veneer would be about 1/42" thick. I am also planning on putting some plastic creme colored binding around the edge. After I glue the veneer down on the top I was wondering if while I was routing out the channel with a dremel tool for the binding if that would crack and ruin the edges of the veneer? Or would it leave a clean enough edge. I was planning on using a Lacewood, Quilted Maple, or Quilted Sapele for the veneer. Thanks for the help.
