Drill Press, Good Bits...
If you are using a les paul scale, measure from the nut 24.75 inches (or what ever your scale is) and mark it of. The rest is easy man.

That black works really well with the neck, umm you have given me some more ideas.
Sweet job man. Do you have sound clips?
-

menaceq...i used ca glue to fill the pores...then i added a coat of clear and level sanded it to 220....then i mixed up another 100 cc batch of clear and added some translucent cherry universal dye to it...shot that 100 cc's...mixed up another 100 ccs of clear with yellow translucent dye, shot that...then did it again with the cherry...then i shot my final coats of clear(no dye)
between every 100 cc batxch i level sanded with 220...then after the final coat i level sanded with 600,then sanded to 1200(working through the grits),then i polished with buffing compounds usig a foam pad in a drill.incedentally you can get foam drill pads at autozone for about $3 a piece

What type of finnish did you use? I have a bubinga top i need to finish. Did you add a tint to the finish? what was the process from the filler to the final buffing. Cos man that axe is killer.

zeppen what did you do to that guitar. Did you get hungry?
-
Now thats hot.
We did this sunburst with candy colors, not stains.

Hey Dude i think that its a good idea. I would like to build a hollow body with a cut away on the back but i think that would be alot of work.
-
Hey Guys i have this Bubinga top I want to finish. I have used some off cuts and tried clear lacquer and Danish oil, but they didn't bring up the beautiful grain liked i hoped it would of. Any ideas on how to get the grain jumping out at ya! I am not sure if you can stain this stuff, personal I don't think it would help. but i am open to ideas.

Mate that is an awesome guitar. Nice work. Do you have sound clips?

I started spraying a couple of days ago, using nitro in aerosol cans --so far I've done the sealer coats and the first round of clear coats (4 coats so far). I have to say this stuff is great, much easier to work with than the acrylic automotive cans I'd been using.
Easyer in what way? I am using acrylic lac and from a gun. I am always looking for a better way. IS the dry time different?

Hey Guys
I have a odd problem at the moment. I have an old ibanez les paul copy with a bolt on neck. The owner gave it to me to change the pickups becasue the old humbuckers would feedback. I changed them and i have noticed the same problem. As soon as you take your hand of any metal bits including strings it starts buzz hard out. I have wired and rewired this beast with no improvement. The wiring is standard les paul style. The ground is all good and i have installed all new hardware. Do i need to sheild this bad boy?
Cheers
