Has any1 had any experiances(good or bad)with veneering a body with major carves?I found some spalted maple veneer for my next project.I wanted to do a prs style carve if possible.Otherwise i'll make a tele.

Are those drillpress stands for your own drill,strong enough to put frets in?

Pretty weird how it looks like a burst from that angle.the quarter grain stained so dark,that it created a natural look.those pics are too dark.i'l get some better ones actually is a mix of green with the last coat being pure blue.99% it looks green.

A couple of pictures of my rounded warlock. This guitar is my first attempt at building other than a neck I built 2 monthes ago.Building anything at all ao be nice .I cut all the straight parts with a hand saw.Then rasped the rest.Ididn't have a router for the pickup holes, so I used a spade bit and a chisel and I did a messy job.thats what the pu covers r 4 I guess.I stained and sanded it 4 times and then sprayed it with 8 coats of lacquer.Sanded up to 2500 thenused megiuars #9 swirl remover to buff it out.There r still some scratches though.I'm gonna spray it again as I didn't finish, finishing the sides yet.So I'll do it over,but no biggy 24 fret reverse,2 piece quartered maple. Two piece mahogany. I will put gold hardware with it. I have finished my body now I need to finish my neck.I've never felt a tung oil finish.Fast or slow.Just wondering guys

I just used Meguiars mirror glaze swirl remover #9.that works good.

Are there any poor boy methods.Something I could by at canadian tire or something. Canadian tire has all kinds of different meguiars stuff,but i don't know what to use. Please Well,I went and bought Megiuars fine polish #2 and hand buffed it.It looks beautiful except that there are those tiny TINY scratches.i think they came from me using a piece of flannel instead of a proper buffer Would a swirl remover work or should I just use the RIGHT material.OR Do i just have to keep going

Can you buff out 1500 grit scratches? How long should you wait before sanding lacquer?I waited a week and it seemed okay,until I noticed that when I would wipe the guitar off it would get scratched by the towel.More downey?Or is this expected? Please&Thanks guys

You built the Jellycaster didn't you?I never liked Tele's until that one.I like it a lot.The natural stain and pearloid pickguard and binding are awesome.

Couldn't you make sure the inlay material is below the cutout edge.Then top it off with a clear hardener?That way you would have to do minimal sanding........wouldn't you?
