BBE sonic maximisers??

Ok i've heard so much great stuff about these that i've decided i'm going to try one

thing is which one? it seems like people prefer the 422a and 482

but what's the difference? and how about the other models?

i'll be using it on a jcm2000 DSL100 with 1960a cab

and then later i want to put together a rack with

ada MP1, G major, BBE sonic maximiser??, some power amp(haven't decided yet) into 1960a

anyone tried the BBE with any of these setups?

from what i've read certain pieces of gear don't sound too good with it

I use to have the 422a which is really a split system meaning you have two completely different channels (stereo), It was great!

I've since given up on all that gear though and play with just plain little combo amp's these days. Guess I kinda out grew the mega setup syndrome for now.

I have the software version, and I love it.

Great for mastering a track with, but I fail to see the use in a live rig.

Surely you can get the same results with a compressor and some EQ tweaking on your amp?

Any thoughts?

i don't actually know much about it, i'm only going on what i've read

but i figured that since they're so cheap and apparently so good, it'd do no harm to get one and if i don't like it i can sell it
