feylya Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 I got a cheap seven string at the beginning of last week and on inspection of it, there's a piece of plywood between the end of the actual fretboard and the nut. Also, under the nut is incredibly rough cut. Now, I'd like to get rid of the piece of plywood and fill in the gap under the nut. What does everyone suggest? I would make a new fret board only I have no access to tools or wood to make one Quote
Dr. Jabsco Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 You could ask somone to send you some rosewood sawdust maybe. how big is the gap? if its not very big you could get a buzz fietien nut installed and that may be big enough to cover it up. Quote
feylya Posted August 10, 2004 Author Report Posted August 10, 2004 It's approximately a 1.3mm piece of plywood. I thought about a BF nut but it's a locking nut so I'm not sure if it'd work. Quote
Dr. Jabsco Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 hmm, i dont think it would. well, im out of ideas, ill let some pros handle this. Quote
