randombaz
So which way do you sand as you go around the sides of your guitar? You cant go with the grain...
AlGeeEater
I go from the horns to the back of the guitar. Not from the back to the front. But i dont think it matters rite?
Southpa
It depends on what kind of contours you are dealing with and whether or not you are sanding bare wood or some type coating. I usually wrap sandpaper around a soft foam pad and work length wise along the sides. You can also use the contours of the palm of your hand for sanding outside radius areas. Of course, in some spots you will be sanding across the end grain but thats not a serious problem. I avoid coarser grits on outside corners when sanding poly or laquer. Thats a sure way to break thru and mar your stain job.
randombaz
its just the tutorials say dont cross sand or it'll show if u add wood dye but you can either go up and down or side to side in different places along your guitar.....its all debatable!
