Changing Colours (Colors) of Pickup Bobbins

Hi, I can get fibreboard similar to Forbon in Australia to make pickup bobbins. It is available in 1.6mm red and black and 2.4mm black only. I was wondering if it is at all possible to paint or somehow change colour of fibreboard without doing any damage. For instance can you spray it say purple? Would potting cause any problems to colour change?

Thanks guys. Checked out the site.

I think what I will do though. is actually obtain coloured material (plastic or whatever) and make top flange out of that or I'll spray top flange with acrylic paint.
