Devon Headen
I've looked everywhere and I can't find what I need. I have brass inserts for my neck with an inside 1/4-20 thread, but I can't find a supplier for chrome phillips head bolts. Nearly the only place I could find for chrome fasteners was www.chromebolt.com. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on some? Thanks, Devon
jer7440
Would you be opposed to an allen head in your bolt? If not try searching for a 1/4-20 stainless steel button head screw. I realize it's not chrome but you could probably polish the heads to be quite shiney Edited October 28, 2004 by jer7440
Devon Headen
The problem's not that it won't be shiny, it's that it won't match the chrome. I comtemplated the allen head chrome bolts on the site I posted, but I don't think they had any long enough. I believe the longest ones were 1". jer7440
Dude check this pagechrome bolt.com. At just a glance I see 1/4-20 at least 1 3/4 long. hope this helps.
Devon Headen
Thanks. I found what I need. Before I order them I'm gonna make sure stainless won't work. If stainless is close enough I might see what I can do with it.
soapbarstrat
Trust me, you can buff stainless to look like chrome. I have done it with a flannel buffing wheel and that red bar dry polishing compound. I don't have any 1/4" 20 bolts. I have a bag of 10-24 ones. Devon Headen
I'm sure I can just pick them up at Lowes. I have some metal polish, for sharpening, so I'll probably just use that.
