tsl602000
Hi all, My just finished guitar still needs a fret job. It plays very well, bu I think I can improve the neck with a lfret level job. I have to wait till my fret crowning file comes in the mail, so in the meantime I'd better gather as much info as I can. My guitar has a 10-14 compound radius fingerboard and I wonder how I should level. Anyone with some tips? Thanks, Coen
Brian
Your best bet from what I've read up on leveling a compound radius is to use a long flat bar with a very fine grit paper and just sand it lengthwise. Somebody with more experiance in this matter is bound to come along soon.

gw_guitars
Hi Coen, Searched everywhere. Can't find anything. The only thing I found where some old articles in 'Music Maker' by Ted Oberg. (nice guitar player, by the way) He only describes flatting the frets but doesn't mention anything about a radius. The articles are in dutch. If you're interessed I will try to scan them and mail them to you. The quality is a little poor because I don't have the originals but photocopies. Let me know. tsl602000
Gerard, Yeah, I'd love to see those articles.... anything I can learn from is interesting!
gw_guitars
Coen, I'll try not to forget it. I don't have a scanner at home. On my work I have. But I work on a school so I have to wait till monday (vacation time). Not a teacher, thank God. I'm a concierge (don't know the english word) Gerard
Brian
You might want to have a look at Frets.com, Frank's tutorials are legendary and of course just because it may be on an acoustic neck, doesn't mean it won't apply here.
