ZiKi
I want to replace this truss rod in a bass guitar for less than $10 dollars (excluding the price of the truss rod). The neck has a skunk stripe. What would be the easiest way? Routering it out? Using heat in some way? I want to do this for a guitar in school and it would be very educational for me. Devon Headen
No way it's gonna happen for under $10. Get more money, then ask again.
LGM Guitars
Chances of doing it successfully to that type of neck are slim to none, even for an experienced guy. You can do it, making it look perfect is a major challenge. I wouldn't attempt it without a milling machine myself. I would save some $$$ and buy a replacement neck myself, you can get some pretty decent necks for under $200, a far cry from $10, but at least you know they'll work.
