AlGeeEater Posted April 21, 2005 Author Report Share Posted April 21, 2005 OK, ive been clearing for the last 2 days, and heres the body with about 6 coats of clear: I think the clear REALLY makes the metallic sparkle more, and it makes it look a ton more shiny then it was with no clear. You said dupli.. so are you using metalcast silver? and you painted it over black.. what kind of clear did you end up going with? it seemed to work really well. kudos. Yes, i painted over black, but its not the metalcast. Its Dupli-Color Truck, Van & SUV paint. Funny thing is the guitar is the EXACT color of my moms car, and i will be using that as a backround for the pics I ended up using Dupli-Color AutoSpray Clear Top Coat for the clear. http://duplicolor.com/products/colors/lacquer.html The color i used was DAL 1679 Silver Metallic. For the clear i used DS125 Clear Top Coat. No sprayin today, its raning out Atleast it will give the paint a little more cure time before the next coat.
