benglaus Posted December 8, 2004 Report Share Posted December 8, 2004 The old time double mute as seen on the high dollar Gretsch's Falcons and such - I was wondering if anyone knew how these things work. I took a look at the Gretsch parts list (price list for accessories) on their webpage and didn't see them listed. I'm sure it's not too mechanically difficult, a lever of some sort that locks in. But if anyone with one of these or someone who has taken them their Gretsch apart (I know, for God's sake why?) has any ideas or better yet pictures or diagrams, I'd appreciate it. They're just so cool and I'm wondering if I can hide one under a pickguard where I've routed the electronics. We're just talking about a lever that locks in the "up" position.
