Ar-Pharazon Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 I am building what could be described as a batocaster (sorry no pics yet). Actually its pretty much a jem in the shape of the batman sign (sort of - mahogany with thin basswood layer). Anyhoo, I got an ibanez edge off ebay and after having a look at routed cavity in which is to fit, realised that it is too low with the posts screwed all the way down. I figure that either I got sent a non ibanez post/ plate insert with the tremolo and I was wondering if anyone can suggest a good way of keeping the posts at a set height (didn't the original ibanez tremolos have and allen lock to set the height? - mine does not). Any help would be appreciated. Quote
Kevan Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 The part you're looking for is the (in)famous 2LE2-B: http://www.ibanez.com/parts/2002_PARTS/el_...1R31.HTM#2LE2-B You can check with your local Ibanez dealer, or order them online thru Rich Harris' site: http://www.ibanezrules.com/parts.htm#Trem%20Parts The ones you want are the plain 2LE2-B ('92 thru '00) or the "Redesigned-Grooved" ones that are a bit more pricey. Either will work for your application. Don't forget to lube both the groove on the post and the knife edge when putting it all together. I would also double-check the measurements of the depth of the route in your guitar body....using the thread you posted in over here: http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=633 Quote
Ar-Pharazon Posted January 11, 2005 Author Report Posted January 11, 2005 (edited) Thank you very much for the links , it helps a lot. As for the routing depth, I have the Ibanez blueprint of the Jem body, which i assume is correct. It is exactly to scale and I have been following that. Also, I was the one who added the Jem measurements. Edited January 11, 2005 by Ar-Pharazon Quote
