Cutting/drilling Pickup Cavities

Is there a general size that i can drill the pickup cavities to...if so what is it? is there a site with a template for this too??

Yeah. Go to the manufacturer of your pickup(s) and download the dimension pdf. This will give you your minimum outside dimensions and an overall height you can use to calculate the pocket depth from using the top of your fingerboard as a reference.
