Grounding A Tune-o-matic

Recommended Posts

Hi tony,

it is ground through the stop bar.

there is a wire that goes from the height adjusting bolt (that raises the treble side of the stop bar) to the controll cavity.

The wire is attached to the bottom of the stud insert (the threaded socket that the height adjusting bolt resides in) and goes through the body into the control cavity.

It is then grounded as per usual.

Hope thats some help,

Luke

Another option is to ground to one of the bridge posts. That is, if your guitar features a pickguard that reaches to the bridge area. I cut a small surface channel from the bridge pickup cavity to the treble side bridge post hole. Strip the end of the wire and insert in the hole then sink the post. Then run the wire in the channel and through the hole with the pickup wires to the control cavity. The pickguard then covers the whole thing.
