Fanatic1 Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 Its possible to put an a Les Paul bridge, Tuneomatic in a body like a strato or Ibanez, without angle? Maybe doing a deep holes for the poles or its completely wrong? Quote
fryovanni Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 It can be done. You will have to allow for the height. You can use a thicker fretboard, but probably not going to be quite enough. It is possible to angle the fretboard, again probably a bit odd although it can be done. My choice would be to recess the TOM. The issue with this beyound having to route is going to be getting enough angle down from the TOM to the tailpiece. I have seen Godin models that use a recessed TOM, then they route small channels for the strings to taper down into the body (allowing for downward angle on the strings) then through ferrules. It looks really nice and is very functional. Check this link to see what I am desribing-Godin Jazz. Peace Rich Quote
