Hughes Posted May 22, 2005 Report Posted May 22, 2005 i was wondering if i only had two control pots, would i need the big huge kinda round style like most basses? or can i have a 2inch wide and 6inches long straight line style? Quote
Marzocchi705 Posted May 22, 2005 Report Posted May 22, 2005 Yeh sure, why not, its your bass. Your cavity only has to be big enough to fit the electronics your using. Quote
thedoctor Posted May 22, 2005 Report Posted May 22, 2005 If you are VERY patient, you don't need a cover plate at all. Open the output jack cavity up until a football-style plate just covers the hole and start carving. You will have to do all the wiring outside the jack cavity and fold the wires as you fish the pots back in. You also will have to use shielding paint cause you will never get foil in that small, deep cave. Or you could put your controls back there next to the output jack. Somebody does that on production guitars but I don't recall who. Or, you could just use a very small (2" X 3") cover plate. Quote
