GREGMW
Hi. Have any of you used the Stewmac fretting saw blade with small table/bench saws. I am considering buying a "cheaper" small table/bench saw (around $300.00 AU) but just wanted to get some thoughts on its use with the blade. OR would I be better of with the handsaw/mitrebox? Thanks Greg

GREGMW
Yes I know the search works well, but thanks anyway for that link What I was really trying to find out is if these blades would be OK to use on the small, cheaper type of bench/table saws. Devon Headen
As long as the blade is square to the table, and the miter slots are parallel to each other and the blade it will work just fine. It's a 6" blade, so there's no problem with the size being too big.
orgmorg
You might want to check to see if it's too small, though. Probably not, but many of the little benchtop models are direct drive, so the arbor doesn't get as close to the top as a belt drive saw does. Check the maximum cut height. If it is 2" with a 10" blade, the 6" blade won't even come thru the top. Also take into account the thickness of your sliding jig, if you are using one.
