GodBlessTexas Posted June 29, 2005 Report Posted June 29, 2005 (edited) Why nut wide is different from Bridge. Why not parallel? ← The nut and bridge are already parallell. Do you mean the same width? Classical guitar necks don't taper and are usually flat, so there's no reason why you couldn't do it. However, they can be quite tiring to play. A tapered and radiused neck is more comfortable to play, and therefore more desirable to most players. I'm not aware of any technical reasons, but that doesn't mean much, as I don't know everything... yet! Remember the Alamo, and God Bless Texas... Edited June 29, 2005 by GodBlessTexas Quote
unclej Posted June 29, 2005 Report Posted June 29, 2005 it'd be pretty tough to finger pick if your strings were the same width at the bridge as they were at the nut..too close together for me anyway.. hey tex..what part of the great state are you in? i'm down in the hill country below and west of austin. eeehaw.. GodBlessTexas Posted June 29, 2005 Report Posted June 29, 2005 I'm up north of Dallas in Frisco/Plano/The Colony area. I love the Hill Country and went to UT. My wife and I were looking into some acreage down that way, but decided we'd stay up here for a while considering what I do for a living. Quote
