Why nut wide is different from Bridge.

Why not parallel?

The nut and bridge are already parallell. Do you mean the same width?

Classical guitar necks don't taper and are usually flat, so there's no reason why you couldn't do it. However, they can be quite tiring to play. A tapered and radiused neck is more comfortable to play, and therefore more desirable to most players. I'm not aware of any technical reasons, but that doesn't mean much, as I don't know everything... yet! :D

Remember the Alamo, and God Bless Texas...

it'd be pretty tough to finger pick if your strings were the same width at the bridge as they were at the nut..too close together for me anyway..

I'm up north of Dallas in Frisco/Plano/The Colony area. I love the Hill Country and went to UT. My wife and I were looking into some acreage down that way, but decided we'd stay up here for a while considering what I do for a living.

I live 5 hours from Dallas and last time I was there I went to Austin Hardwoods, you should check that place out if you haven't already. Especially since your local and they sell all kinds of exotic woods. Ask for Dave.. lol
