Jehle
cool beans drak, but how dare you slaughter a bon jovi song! ← You mean Drak is a Bon Jovi fan! Totally agree! ← Ah, reading back through that whole "5a in 30 days" I see what you did. Ship it to me and I'll fix it up.

haggardguy
Is the steer head a little bit crooked or is it just the picture?
Drak
Can you NOT see the centerline drawn? That centerline was taken by putting a square next to the real centerline going thru the body. That damn steerhead is as perfectly up and down as one could get it. marksound
The scenery behind that steerhead cutout make it sorta look like a carved buckeye burl inlay or something.
Drak
One day the steerheads WILL be inlayed instead of cutout, or a combination of both... ...when I learn how to inlay...
ByronBlack
One day the steerheads WILL be inlayed instead of cutout, or a combination of both... ...when I learn how to inlay... ← It would be cool to inlay the steerhead with real steer horns/antlers - these crop up on ebay quite often. Drak
Here was the guitar the day the Green Hooey died and everybody was in mourning. Except me. I was working furiously on this one getting it ready for finish. I had a little fun photoshopping this image to bring out the figure. Drak
An old cowboy went riding out one dark and windy day Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way When all at once a mighty herd of red eyed cows he saw A-plowing through the ragged sky and up the cloudy draw Their brands were still on fire and their hooves were made of steel Their horns were black and shiny and their hot breath he could feel A bolt of fear went through him as they thundered through the sky For he saw the Riders coming hard and he heard their mournful cry Yippie yi Ohhhhh Yippie yi yaaaaay Ghost Riders in the sky Their faces gaunt, their eyes were blurred, their shirts all soaked with sweat He's riding hard to catch that herd, but he ain't caught 'em yet 'Cause they've got to ride forever on that range up in the sky On horses snorting fire As they ride on hear their cry As the riders loped on by him he heard one call his name If you want to save your soul from Hell a-riding on our range Then cowboy change your ways today or with us you will ride Trying to catch the Devil's herd, across these endless skies Yippie yi Ohhhhh Yippie yi Yaaaaay Ghost Riders in the sky Ghost Riders in the sky Ghost Riders in the sky

Drak
Out in the West Texas town of El Paso I fell in love with a Mexican girl. Night-time would find me in Rosa's cantina; Music would play and Felina would whirl. Blacker than night were the eyes of Felina, Wicked and evil while casting a spell. My love was deep for this Mexican maiden; I was in love but in vain, I could tell. One night a wild young cowboy came in, Wild as the West Texas wind. Dashing and daring, A drink he was sharing With wicked Felina, The girl that I loved. So in anger I Challenged his right for the love of this maiden. Down went his hand for the gun that he wore. My challenge was answered in less than a heart-beat; The handsome young stranger lay dead on the floor. Just for a moment I stood there in silence, Shocked by the FOUL EVIL deed I had done. Many thoughts raced through my mind as I stood there; I had but one chance and that was to run. Out through the back door of Rosa's I ran, Out where the horses were tied. I caught a good one. It looked like it could run. Up on its back And away I did ride, Just as fast as I Could from the West Texas town of El Paso Out to the bad-lands of New Mexico. Back in El Paso my life would be worthless. Everything's gone in life; nothing is left. It's been so long since I've seen the young maiden My love is stronger than my fear of death. I saddled up and away I did go, Riding alone in the dark. Maybe tomorrow A bullet may find me. Tonight nothing's worse than this Pain in my heart. And at last here I Am on the hill overlooking El Paso; I can see Rosa's cantina below. My love is strong and it pushes me onward. Down off the hill to Felina I go. Off to my right I see five mounted cowboys; Off to my left ride a dozen or more. Shouting and shooting I can't let them catch me. I have to make it to Rosa's back door. Something is dreadfully wrong for I feel A deep burning pain in my side. Though I am trying To stay in the saddle, I'm getting weary, Unable to ride. But my love for Felina is strong and I rise where I've fallen, Though I am weary I can't stop to rest. I see the white puff of smoke from the rifle. I feel the bullet go deep in my chest. From out of nowhere Felina has found me, Kissing my cheek as she kneels by my side. Cradled by two loving arms that I'll die for, One little kiss and Felina, good-bye. jnewman
DAMN. That's incredible... I love your spray booth, too . Just one question... if you've only got one pickup route, why are there five holes for pot shafts?
skibum5545
Drak, I can honestly say I've never seen you this excited about a guitar. And for good reason, too!! Frankly, I'm not over Greenie-- mostly because it was my one chance to live vicariously through a master like you-- but this one certainly does justice to its memory. Congrats! TeiscosRock
Maybe those are the controls for a radio rear-mounted in the guitar, that will play rawhide whenever someone picks up the guitar...
