Mickguard Posted September 14, 2005 Report Posted September 14, 2005 When do you glue on your top (or back or cap) when you're chambering your guitar? I plan to draw the outline of the guitar onto the body blank, then route the chambers and only then cut out the body shape. Now I can either glue on the maple back I'll be using before cutting out the body shape or Affix the cap firmly with double-sided tape and route out the body shape like that. I figure this way if there's any more monkeying around to do inside, I'll be able to. But what's the usual (correct) method for this? Quote
Daniel Sorbera Posted September 14, 2005 Report Posted September 14, 2005 I'm not sure if it's the "right" way but on my first guitar I cut out the mahognay body, routed the chambers, than glued on the top and used the body as the template and routed the top to the size of the body. Quote
