msabati
I have a 79 sunburst Strat and while the paint is in good shape with a pretty good shine all around there seems to be a couple of areas where former owners may have oversprayed a matched color. Along the dark sunburst area along the tummy contour is a rougher patch of matched dark brownish paint that is different texture than the rest of the finish, no lacquer material to speak of. I would like to carefully remove some of that and create what was almost certainly a natural wear spot in that area. Same situation along the bottom edge of the guitar. Any ideas would be appreciated.
american_jesus
just play it...you'll wear it off in a matter of time, and then it'll truly be a natural wear spot. if you try and take the paint off, you'll end up taking off the original paint as well, and creating a fake looking spot...
