Pex657
My friend is trying to sell me this Ibanez guitar. I am having trouble figuring out which type of Ibanez this is. I think is an AX, but they don't have the some one on the site. The closest one that I can find ont ibanez site is http://www.ibanez.com/guitars/guitar.asp?model=AXS42 . [EDIT]No need for pictures any more[/EDIT] I am wondering what this guitar would be worth in this condition? Thanks, -Pex657 Edited January 31, 2006 by Pex657
GodBlessTexas
My guess is that you've found the right model, the AXS42, but it's older or newer than what's show on the website and has different inlays. Ibanez is notorious for not showing a lot of their product line on the web site. I had an RG320FM in cherry sunburst that I've never seen in the catalog or on-line. The serial number on the back should indicate where it's from with a letter, followed by 0 and another number. if I'ts C04 that means it was made in 2004 at the Cort Korea plant. Retail on those is $424-429 US. I'd say a mint version would be worth about $250 at best, as there's not a lot of demand for the AX line that I can tell. GodBlessTexas
OK. While browsing fleabay I found this. It's not an AXS42, it's and AXS32 and is a discontinued model. Froogle has them for $339 at Samash.com new. I'd say $200 for the condition its in would be more than fair GBT

GodBlessTexas
You're welcome. I just happened to spot an identical model while looking. GBT
