The Fatalities
If i clear coat a matt black guitar, will it have a glossy finish (unwanted)? How many coats of matt black paint will i have to do when painting my guitar if i do not put any clear coat? Is primer needed when working with non glossy matte paint? Mattia
Get a matte or flat clearcoat, use that. Alternately, rub back the clearcoat with fine steel wool. It'll polish out by friction when you actually play it, but it's easily repeated. Primer's always a good idea under solid colours, and you don't want to be buffing colour coats if you can help it.
