radrobgray Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 I live in Utah and the average humidity is 60%. i am going to the philippines this summer for a month(going to see grandparents and to 2 weddings). i plan on buying a electric guitar there and bringing it back wiht me. the humidity there is 82% but, probably more becuase it will be rainy season. so will the 82% to 60% humidity change make the neck warp? will i have any other problems such as the paint checking and cracking? i will probably by a ibanez rg550 or better while there if thats any help. ryanb Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 The neck will move andd will require setup changes, but it should otherwise be fine. Let it acclimate, then adjust it as necessary. Quote
radrobgray Posted April 19, 2006 Author Report Posted April 19, 2006 how long should i let it acclimate for? Quote
orgmorg Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 Until it needs adjustment And it may not. If everything stays put, leave it be. If things start to move, wait til they seem to stop moving before adjusting them. Otherwise, you may have to do it again. Quote
