cole Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 What is the best way to replace the fingerboard on a strat neck. I have a 60's neck without a fingerboard and I need to conserve the original maple as much as possible. Quote
Nitefly SA Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 i dont think it has one and he wants to put one on. Quote
cole Posted June 25, 2006 Author Report Posted June 25, 2006 (edited) ya it doesn't have one, I would have never removed it. Edited June 25, 2006 by cole Quote
Mattia Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 Right. Picture? Didn't the 60's strats have veneer boards? What's the surface look like right now? Quote
cole Posted June 25, 2006 Author Report Posted June 25, 2006 only since mid 62 this is a 60 neck. Quote
erikbojerik Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 If the neck blank has a radius on it, you'll need to put the same radius on the bottom of the fretboard. Are you planning to slot and fret the board yourself? Or buy a pre-made board? Quote
cole Posted June 26, 2006 Author Report Posted June 26, 2006 It's not a veneer its a slab and I'm buying a blank fingerboard and putting it on. and than I'll put the fret slots in Quote
