MacPhisto
I bought a Saga solid body as a starter before I jump full into building a guitar from scratch. I started finishing the guitar with a metal flake lacquer. 3 coats of color and 3 coats of clear. After allowing it to dry I started wet sanding with a 400 grit sandpaper. The orange peel effect was pretty stuborn in going away, so much so that I broke through the color in a few places. I finished sanding the whole body with the 400 so that the finish was smooth. I have since put 3 more coats of color on to cover the areas that broke through. Question I have is should I wet sand the color coat before putting on the final clear coats, or should I go with the 3 more coats of clear and then start sanding again? Thanks!
